M Venusaur-EX 100/108 · Evolutions

Evolutions is a set in the XY series. It was released on November 2, 2016. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 113 cards. M Venusaur-EX is 100/108, in position 100 of 113 on this checklist. Before it is 99 Fairy Energy, and after it is 101 M Charizard-EX. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

M Venusaur-EX is a MEGA EX Grass Pokémon with 230 HP. In the Pokédex this is Venusaur (#003), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Venusaur-EX. In this catalog that name is Venusaur (#003).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Venusaur (#003) has 46 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 28 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Venusaur 15/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Venusaur, while this one is M Venusaur-EX. That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 4. 43 other cards of Venusaur list a different HP.

The attack Crisis Vine lists 120 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Grass, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed and Poisoned. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The card text says: Mega Evolution rule: When 1 of your Pokémon becomes a Mega Evolution Pokémon, your turn ends. The card text says: Pokémon-EX rule: When a Pokémon-EX has been Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

I keep a set binder for Evolutions, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Evolutions set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Venusaur can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Kanto starters, without Charizard. I still need this card.
