Avalugg 31/106 · Flashfire

Flashfire is a set in the XY series. It was released on May 7, 2014. The printed size is 106. This checklist is longer, at 110 cards. Avalugg is 31/106, in position 31 of 110 on this checklist. Before it is 30 Bergmite, and after it is 32 Shinx. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Avalugg is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Avalugg (#713), generation 6 (Kalos). The card says it evolves from Bergmite. In this catalog that name is Bergmite (#712).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Avalugg (#713) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2016 to 2026. The earliest other card is Avalugg 37/114 in Steam Siege (2016). That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Saya Tsuruta illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 5 other cards of Avalugg list a different HP.

The attack Frost Barrier lists 40 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, any damage done to this Pokémon by attacks is reduced by 20 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). Shatter is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless, Colorless. Discard any Stadium card in play. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "Its ice-covered body is as hard as steel. Its cumbersome frame crushes anything that stands in its way."

I keep a set binder for Flashfire, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Flashfire set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Avalugg can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
