Barbaracle 49/106 · Flashfire

Barbaracle is Pokédex #689, generation 6 (Kalos). Barbaracle is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Binacle. In this catalog that name is Binacle (#688).

Barbaracle sits at 49/106 in Flashfire, position 49 of 110. Before it is 48 Binacle, and after it is 50 Sneasel. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on May 7, 2014. The printed size is 106. This checklist is longer, at 110 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Rock Rush lists 30× damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. Discard as many Fighting Energy cards as you like from your hand. This attack does 30 damage times the number of Energy cards you discarded. Boulder Crush is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Fighting. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "When they evolve, two Binacle multiply into seven. They fight with the power of seven Binacle."

Barbaracle (#689) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2016 to 2026. The earliest other card is Barbaracle 23/124 in Fates Collide (2016). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Shin Nagasawa illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 5 other cards of Barbaracle list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Flashfire set binder is where a full Flashfire set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Barbaracle can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
