Mightyena 54/119 · Phantom Forces

Mightyena is Pokédex #262, generation 3 (Hoenn). Mightyena is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Poochyena. In this catalog that name is Poochyena (#261).

Mightyena sits at 54/119 in Phantom Forces, position 55 of 124. Before it is 53 Poochyena, and after it is 55 Spiritomb. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on November 5, 2014. The printed size is 119. This checklist is longer, at 124 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Crunch lists 30 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, discard an Energy attached to your opponent's Active Pokémon. Darkness Fang is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It will always obey the commands of a skilled Trainer. Its behavior arises from its living in packs in ancient times."

Mightyena (#262) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 17 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mightyena 10/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Atsuko Nishida illustrated that card, and Sanosuke Sakuma illustrated this one. 20 other cards of Mightyena list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Sanosuke Sakuma. I count 158 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Phantom Forces set binder is where a full Phantom Forces set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mightyena can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
