Shelgon 56/108 · Roaring Skies

Shelgon is Pokédex #372, generation 3 (Hoenn). Shelgon is a Stage 1 Dragon Pokémon with 80 HP. The card says it evolves from Bagon. In this catalog that name is Bagon (#371). The card lists Salamence, Salamence (#373) under evolves to.

Shelgon sits at 56/108 in Roaring Skies, position 56 of 112. Before it is 55 Bagon, and after it is 57 Salamence. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on May 6, 2015. The printed size is 108. This checklist is longer, at 112 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Exoskeleton is listed as Ability. Any damage done to this Pokémon by attacks is reduced by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). The attack Rolling Tackle lists 60 damage. The cost is Fire, Water, Colorless. Weakness is Fairy ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Its armored body makes all attacks bounce off. The armor is too tough, however, making it heavy and somewhat sluggish."

Shelgon (#372) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Shelgon 20/97 in Dragon (2003). Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and sui illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 8 other cards of Shelgon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads sui. I count 194 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Roaring Skies set binder is where a full Roaring Skies set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Shelgon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
