Vivillon 15/162 · BREAKthrough

BREAKthrough is a set in the XY series. It was released on November 4, 2015. The printed size is 162. This checklist is longer, at 165 cards. Vivillon is 15/162, in position 15 of 165 on this checklist. Before it is 14 Spewpa, and after it is 16 Skiddo. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Vivillon is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Vivillon (#666), generation 6 (Kalos). The card says it evolves from Spewpa. In this catalog that name is Spewpa (#665).

Mizue illustrated this card. The same name is on 184 other cards in the catalog.

Vivillon (#666) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2013 to 2026. The earliest other card is Vivillon XY137/211 in XY Black Star Promos (2013). Both list 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. match illustrated that card, and Mizue illustrated this one. 2 other cards of Vivillon list a different HP.

Energy Color is listed as Ability. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a basic Energy card and attach it to 1 of your Pokémon. Shuffle your deck afterward. The attack Sleep Powder lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Asleep. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The patterns on this Pokémon's wings depend on the climate and topography of its habitat. It scatters colorful scales."

I keep a set binder for BREAKthrough, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKthrough set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vivillon can fill a slot in Generation 6 binder (Kalos). I still need this card.
