Simisear 24/162 · BREAKthrough

BREAKthrough is a set in the XY series. It was released on November 4, 2015. The printed size is 162. This checklist is longer, at 165 cards. Simisear is 24/162, in position 24 of 165 on this checklist. Before it is 23 Pansear, and after it is 25 Fennekin. The listed rarity is Rare.

Simisear is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Simisear (#514), generation 5 (Unova). The card says it evolves from Pansear. In this catalog that name is Pansear (#513).

Ayaka Yoshida illustrated this card. The same name is on 128 other cards in the catalog.

Simisear (#514) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Simisear 22/114 in Black & White (2011). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Shin Nagasawa illustrated that card, and Ayaka Yoshida illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Simisear list a different HP.

The attack Water Fling lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Put 3 Water Energy from your discard pile into your hand. Hand Fling is another attack lists 10× damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 10 damage times the number of cards in your hand. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "When it gets excited, embers rise from its head and tail and it gets hot. For some reason, it loves sweets."

I keep a set binder for BREAKthrough, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKthrough set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Simisear can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
