Garchomp 70/122 · BREAKpoint

BREAKpoint is a set in the XY series. It was released on February 3, 2016. The printed size is 122. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. Garchomp is 70/122, in position 70 of 126 on this checklist. Before it is 69 Gabite, and after it is 71 Pancham. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Garchomp is a Stage 2 Fighting Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Garchomp (#445), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Gabite. In this catalog that name is Gabite (#444).

TOKIYA illustrated this card. The same name is on 93 other cards in the catalog.

Garchomp (#445) has 36 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Garchomp C LV.X DP46/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Garchomp C LV.X, while this one is Garchomp. That card lists 110 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and TOKIYA illustrated this one. 33 other cards of Garchomp list a different HP.

The attack Turbo Assault lists 60 damage. The cost is Fighting. Attach an Energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your Pokémon. Bite Off is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is a Pokémon-EX, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Grass ×2. The flavor text reads "It flies at speeds equals to a jet fighter plane. It never allows its prey to escape."

I keep a set binder for BREAKpoint, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BREAKpoint set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Garchomp can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
