Ferrothorn 80/122 · BREAKpoint

Ferrothorn is Pokédex #598, generation 5 (Unova). Ferrothorn is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 100 HP. The card says it evolves from Ferroseed. In this catalog that name is Ferroseed (#597).

Ferrothorn sits at 80/122 in BREAKpoint, position 80 of 126. Before it is 79 Ferroseed, and after it is 81 Clefairy. The set belongs to the XY series. It was released on February 3, 2016. The printed size is 122. This checklist is longer, at 126 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Metal Claw lists 40 damage. The cost is Metal, Colorless. Spike Lash is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Metal, Colorless, Colorless. This attack does 10 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon for each Colorless in that Pokémon's Retreat Cost. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "They attach themselves to cave ceilings, firing steel spikes at targets passing beneath them."

Ferrothorn (#598) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2026. The earliest other card is Ferrothorn 72/98 in Emerging Powers (2011). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Shin Nagasawa illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 12 other cards of Ferrothorn list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

BREAKpoint set binder is where a full BREAKpoint set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Ferrothorn can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). I still need this card.
