Giratina XY184/211 · XY Black Star Promos

XY Black Star Promos is a set in the XY series. It was released on October 12, 2013. The printed size is 211. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Giratina is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 130 HP. In the Pokédex this is Giratina (#487), generation 4 (Sinnoh).

5ban Graphics illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,629 other cards in the catalog.

Giratina (#487) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2023. The earliest other card is Giratina LV.X DP38/56 in DP Black Star Promos (2007). That card is named Giratina LV.X, while this one is Giratina. Both list 130 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Shizurow illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 22 other cards of Giratina list a different HP.

Devour Light is listed as Ability. Each Pokémon BREAK has no Abilities (this includes Abilities of its previous Evolution). The attack Shadow Claw lists 110 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a random card from your opponent's hand. Weakness is Darkness ×2. Resistance is Fighting -20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World."

I keep a set binder for XY Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the XY Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Giratina can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. I still need this card.
