Hypno 8/62 · Fossil

Hypno is Pokédex #097, generation 1 (Kanto). Hypno is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 90 HP. The card lists level 36. The card says it evolves from Drowzee. In this catalog that name is Drowzee (#096).

Hypno sits at 8/62 in Fossil, position 8 of 62. Before it is 7 Hitmonlee, and after it is 9 Kabutops. The set belongs to the Base series. It was released on 10 October 1999. The printed size is 62, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Prophecy lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Look at up to 3 cards from the top of either player's deck and rearrange them as you like. Dark Mind is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Psychic. If your opponent has any Benched Pokémon, choose 1 of them and this attack does 10 damage to it. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "When it locks eyes with an enemy, it will use a mix of psi moves such as Hypnosis and Confusion."

Hypno (#097) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Hypno 23/62 in Fossil (1999). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Rare Holo. 17 other cards of Hypno list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Ken Sugimori. I count 1,112 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Fossil set binder is where a full Fossil set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Hypno can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
