Masquerain 2/101 · Plasma Blast

Masquerain is Pokédex #284, generation 3 (Hoenn). Masquerain is a Stage 1 Team Plasma Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card says it evolves from Surskit. In this catalog that name is Surskit (#283).

Masquerain sits at 2/101 in Plasma Blast, position 2 of 105. Before it is 1 Surskit, and after it is 3 Lileep. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on 14 August 2013. The printed size is 101. This checklist is longer, at 105 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

Tool Reversal is listed as Ability. As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may put a Pokémon Tool card attached to 1 of your Pokémon into your hand. The attack Bug Bite lists 60 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its antennae have eye patterns on them. Its four wings enable it to hover and fly in any direction."

Masquerain (#284) has 12 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2004 to 2023. The earliest other card is Masquerain 20/101 in Hidden Legends (2004). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Toshinao Aoki illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 10 other cards of Masquerain list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Blast set binder is where a full Plasma Blast set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Masquerain can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
