Donphan 72/135 · Plasma Storm

Donphan is Pokédex #232, generation 2 (Johto). Donphan is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 130 HP. The card says it evolves from Phanpy. In this catalog that name is Phanpy (#231).

Donphan sits at 72/135 in Plasma Storm, position 72 of 138. Before it is 71 Phanpy, and after it is 73 Lunatone. The set belongs to the Black & White series. It was released on 6 February 2013. The printed size is 135. This checklist is longer, at 138 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Spinning Turn lists 40 damage. The cost is Fighting. Switch this Pokémon with 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Wreck is another attack lists 80+ damage. The cost is Fighting, Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. If there is any Stadium card in play, this attack does 60 more damage. Discard the Stadium card. Weakness is Water ×2. Resistance is Lightning -20. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "It attacks by curling up, then rolling into its foe. It can blow apart a house in one hit."

Donphan (#232) has 20 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Donphan 21/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Shin Nagasawa illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 4. 18 other cards of Donphan list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Shin Nagasawa. I count 303 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Plasma Storm set binder is where a full Plasma Storm set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Donphan can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
