Vaporeon BW89/101 · BW Black Star Promos

BW Black Star Promos is a set in the Black & White series. It was released on 1 March 2011. The printed size is 101, and the checklist is the same length. Vaporeon is BW89/101, in position 89 of 101 on this checklist. Before it is BW88 Flareon, and after it is BW90 Glaceon. The listed rarity is Promo.

Vaporeon is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Vaporeon (#134), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

The Pokémon Company Art Team illustrated this card. The same name is on 15 other cards in the catalog.

Vaporeon (#134) has 36 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Vaporeon 12/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and The Pokémon Company Art Team illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 30 other cards of Vaporeon list a different HP.

The attack Muddy Water lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. Does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Spiral Drain is another attack lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Heal 20 damage from this Pokémon. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Its cell composition is similar to water molecules. As a result, it can melt away into water."

I keep a set binder for BW Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the BW Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vaporeon can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
