Houndoom 10/95 · Call of Legends

Houndoom is Pokédex #229, generation 2 (Johto). Houndoom is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Houndour. In this catalog that name is Houndour (#228).

Houndoom sits at 10/95 in Call of Legends, position 10 of 106. Before it is 9 Ho-Oh, and after it is 11 Jirachi. The set belongs to the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on 9 February 2011. The printed size is 95. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Fire Counterattack lists 20+ damage. The cost is Darkness. If your opponent has any Fighting Pokémon in play, this attack does 20 damage plus 60 more damage. Dark Roar is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness. Your opponent discards a card from his or her hand. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Upon hearing its eerie howls, other Pokémon get the shivers and head straight back to their nests."

Houndoom (#229) has 44 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Houndoom 4/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Shin-ichi Yoshida illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. 41 other cards of Houndoom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Call of Legends set binder is where a full Call of Legends set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Houndoom can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
