Heracross 28/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Diamond & Pearl is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 May 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. Heracross is 28/130, in position 28 of 130 on this checklist. Before it is 27 Gengar, and after it is 29 Hippowdon. The listed rarity is Rare.

Heracross is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 29. In the Pokédex this is Heracross (#214), generation 2 (Johto).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Heracross (#214) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Heracross 6/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. 25 other cards of Heracross list a different HP.

The attack Pitch lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. Your opponent switches the Defending Pokémon with 1 of his or her Benched Pokémon. Horn Slash is another attack lists 30+ damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 30 damage plus 30 more damage. Weakness is Fire +20. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It gathers in forests to search for tree sap, its favorite food. It's strong enough to hurl foes."

I keep a set binder for Diamond & Pearl, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Diamond & Pearl set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Heracross can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
