Purugly 36/130 · Diamond & Pearl

Purugly is Pokédex #432, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Purugly is a Stage 1 Colorless Pokémon with 90 HP. The card lists level 44. The card says it evolves from Glameow. In this catalog that name is Glameow (#431).

Purugly sits at 36/130 in Diamond & Pearl, position 36 of 130. Before it is 35 Pachirisu, and after it is 37 Snorlax. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 May 2007. The printed size is 130, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack High Hat lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Choose 1 card from your opponent's hand without looking and discard it. Body Slam is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. Weakness is Fighting +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It is a brazen brute that barges its way into another Pokémon's nest and claims it as its own."

Purugly (#432) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2008 to 2024. The earliest other card is Purugly 50/106 in Great Encounters (2008). Both list 90 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 6 other cards of Purugly list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Masakazu Fukuda. I count 471 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Diamond & Pearl set binder is where a full Diamond & Pearl set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Purugly can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
