Roserade 17/132 · Secret Wonders

Secret Wonders is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 November 2007. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Roserade is 17/132, in position 17 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 16 Raikou, and after it is 18 Salamence. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Roserade is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 90 HP. The card lists level 37. In the Pokédex this is Roserade (#407), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Roselia. In this catalog that name is Roselia (#315).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Roserade (#407) has 16 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Roserade 13/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 90 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 9 other cards of Roserade list a different HP.

The attack Sleep Poison lists 20 damage. The cost is Grass. The Defending Pokémon is now Asleep and Poisoned. Magical Leaf is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Grass, Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 40 damage plus 30 more damage and remove 3 damage counters from Roserade. Weakness is Fire +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It attracts prey with a sweet aroma, then downs it with thorny whips hidden in its arms."

I keep a set binder for Secret Wonders, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Secret Wonders set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Roserade can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
