Prinplup 44/100 · Majestic Dawn

Majestic Dawn is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 May 2008. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. Prinplup is 44/100, in position 44 of 100 on this checklist. Before it is 43 Pachirisu, and after it is 45 Raichu. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Prinplup is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 24. In the Pokédex this is Prinplup (#394), generation 4 (Sinnoh). The card says it evolves from Piplup. In this catalog that name is Piplup (#393). The card lists Empoleon, Empoleon (#395) under evolves to.

Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this card. The same name is on 74 other cards in the catalog.

Prinplup (#394) has 9 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Prinplup 58/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this one. 4 other cards of Prinplup list a different HP.

The attack Ice Blade lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Colorless. Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Wash Over is another attack lists 50 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Does 10 damage to 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning +20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its wings deliver wicked blows that snap even the thickest of trees. It searches for prey in icy seas."

I keep a set binder for Majestic Dawn, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Majestic Dawn set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Prinplup can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). I still need this card.
