Unown [Q] 49/100 · Majestic Dawn

Unown is Pokédex #201, generation 2 (Johto). Unown [Q] is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 30 HP. The card lists level 15.

Unown [Q] sits at 49/100 in Majestic Dawn, position 49 of 100. Before it is 48 Sudowoodo, and after it is 50 Aipom. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 May 2008. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

QUICK is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), if Unown Q is on your Bench, you may discard all cards attached to Unown Q and attach Unown Q to 1 of your Pokémon as a Pokémon Tool card. As long as Unown Q is attached to a Pokémon, you pay Colorless less to retreat that Pokémon. The attack Hidden Power lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. Weakness is Psychic +10. The flavor text reads "Shaped like ancient writing, it is a huge mystery whether language or Unown came first."

Unown (#201) has 95 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Unown [J] 38/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Unown [J], while this one is Unown [Q]. That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 30 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Uncommon. Hideki Kazama illustrated that card, and Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this one. 95 other cards of Unown list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kent Kanetsuna. I count 74 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Majestic Dawn set binder is where a full Majestic Dawn set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Unown can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Unown. I still need this card.
