Unown [!] 42/146 · Legends Awakened

Unown is Pokédex #201, generation 2 (Johto). Unown [!] is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 50 HP. The card lists level 16.

Unown [!] sits at 42/146 in Legends Awakened, position 42 of 146. Before it is 41 Torkoal, and after it is 43 Uxie. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 August 2008. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare.

! is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, when you put Unown ! from your hand onto your Bench, you may flip a coin. If heads, put 2 damage counters on 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. If tails, put 2 damage counters on 1 of your Pokémon. The attack Hidden Power lists 10+ damage. The cost is Psychic. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 10 damage plus 10 more damage. If tails, Unown ! does 10 damage to itself, and this attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance. Weakness is Psychic +10. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Shaped like an ancient writing, it is a huge mystery whether language or Unown came first."

Unown (#201) has 95 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Unown [J] 38/53 in Wizards Black Star Promos (1999). That card is named Unown [J], while this one is Unown [!]. That card lists 40 HP, and this one lists 50 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare. Hideki Kazama illustrated that card, and Kent Kanetsuna illustrated this one. 67 other cards of Unown list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kent Kanetsuna. I count 74 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Legends Awakened set binder is where a full Legends Awakened set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Unown can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Unown. I still need this card.
