Kingdra 7/146 · Legends Awakened

Legends Awakened is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 August 2008. The printed size is 146, and the checklist is the same length. Kingdra is 7/146, in position 7 of 146 on this checklist. Before it is 6 Heatran, and after it is 8 Luxray. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Kingdra is a Stage 2 Water Pokémon with 130 HP. The card lists level 52. In the Pokédex this is Kingdra (#230), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Seadra. In this catalog that name is Seadra (#117).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Kingdra (#230) has 28 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2024. The earliest other card is Kingdra 8/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 90 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 23 other cards of Kingdra list a different HP.

The attack Aqua Stream lists 10× damage. Search your discard pile for as many Water Energy cards as you like, show them to your opponent, and this attack does 10 damage for each Water Energy card you chose. Put those cards on top of your deck. Shuffle your deck afterward. Dragon Pump is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Water. You may discard 2 cards from your hand. If you do, this attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage and does 20 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning +30. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It lives in caves on the seafloor and creates giant whirlpools every time it moves."

I keep a set binder for Legends Awakened, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Legends Awakened set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kingdra can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
