Magneton 42/100 · Stormfront

Stormfront is a set in the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 November 2008. The printed size is 100. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. Magneton is 42/100, in position 42 of 106 on this checklist. Before it is 41 Machoke, and after it is 43 Magneton. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Magneton is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 40. In the Pokédex this is Magneton (#082), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Magnemite. In this catalog that name is Magnemite (#081). The card lists Magnezone, Magnezone (#462) under evolves to.

Hajime Kusajima illustrated this card. The same name is on 206 other cards in the catalog.

Magneton (#082) has 44 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 34 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Magneton 9/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Hajime Kusajima illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Magneton list a different HP.

The attack Magnetic Resonance lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. If you have a Stadium card in play, this attack does 20 damage to 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Magnetic Release is another attack lists 40+ damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless, Colorless. Does 40 damage plus 10 more damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokémon. Weakness is Fire +20. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It is actually three Magnemite linked by magnetism. A group can set off a magnetic storm."

I keep a set binder for Stormfront, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Stormfront set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Magneton can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
