Pupitar 47/100 · Stormfront

Pupitar is Pokédex #247, generation 2 (Johto). Pupitar is a Stage 1 Fighting Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 33. The card says it evolves from Larvitar. In this catalog that name is Larvitar (#246). The card lists Tyranitar, Tyranitar (#248) under evolves to.

Pupitar sits at 47/100 in Stormfront, position 47 of 106. Before it is 46 Piloswine, and after it is 48 Sableye. The set belongs to the Diamond & Pearl series. It was released on 1 November 2008. The printed size is 100. This checklist is longer, at 106 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Energy Protection is listed as Poké-Body. Any damage done to Pupitar by attacks is reduced by 10 for each Energy attached to Pupitar (after applying Weakness and Resistance). You can't reduce more than 30 damage in this way. The attack Rock Smash lists 20+ damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage. Weakness is Grass +20. Resistance is Lightning -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its body is hard as bedrock. By venting pressurized gas, it can launch itself like a rocket."

Pupitar (#247) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Pupitar 45/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Hironobu Yoshida illustrated that card, and Hajime Kusajima illustrated this one. 17 other cards of Pupitar list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Hajime Kusajima. I count 206 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Stormfront set binder is where a full Stormfront set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Pupitar can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
