Cascoon 26/109 · Ruby & Sapphire

Cascoon is Pokédex #268, generation 3 (Hoenn). Cascoon is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 70 HP. The card says it evolves from Wurmple. In this catalog that name is Wurmple (#265). The card lists Dustox, Dustox (#269) under evolves to.

Cascoon sits at 26/109 in Ruby & Sapphire, position 26 of 109. Before it is 25 Aron, and after it is 27 Combusken. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on 1 July 2003. The printed size is 109, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Hard Cocoon is listed as Poké-Body. During your opponent's turn, if Cascoon would be damaged by an opponent's attack (after applying Weakness and Resistance), flip a coin. If heads, reduce that damage by 30. The attack Poison Thread lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. The Defending Pokémon is now Poisoned. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

Cascoon (#268) has 8 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 8 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2006 to 2026. The earliest other card is Cascoon 30/92 in Legend Maker (2006). Both list 70 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Sachiko Adachi illustrated that card, and Midori Harada illustrated this one. 6 other cards of Cascoon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Midori Harada. I count 352 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Ruby & Sapphire set binder is where a full Ruby & Sapphire set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Cascoon can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
