Elekid 23/115 · Unseen Forces

Unseen Forces is a set in the EX series. It was released on 1 August 2005. The printed size is 115. This checklist is longer, at 145 cards. Elekid is 23/115, in position 25 of 145 on this checklist. Before it is 22 Electabuzz, and after it is 24 Hitmonchan. The listed rarity is Rare.

Elekid is a Basic Lightning Pokémon with 50 HP. In the Pokédex this is Elekid (#239), generation 2 (Johto). The card lists Electabuzz, Electabuzz (#125) under evolves to.

Yuka Morii illustrated this card. The same name is on 204 other cards in the catalog.

Elekid (#239) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 7 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2023. The earliest other card is Elekid 22/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 30 HP, and this one lists 50 HP. Both list the rarity Rare. Miki Tanaka illustrated that card, and Yuka Morii illustrated this one. 7 other cards of Elekid list a different HP.

Baby Evolution is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn (before your attack), you may put Electabuzz from your hand onto Elekid (this counts as evolving Elekid) and remove all damage counters from Elekid. The attack Magnetic Trip lists 10 damage. The cost is Colorless. If Low Pressure System is in play, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Unseen Forces, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Unseen Forces set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Elekid can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Yuka Morii clay cards and Baby Pokémon. I still need this card.
