Alakazam ★ 99/100 · Crystal Guardians

Alakazam is Pokédex #065, generation 1 (Kanto). Alakazam ★ is a Basic Star Psychic Pokémon with 80 HP.

Alakazam ★ sits at 99/100 in Crystal Guardians, position 99 of 100. Before it is 98 Swampert ex, and after it is 100 Celebi ★. The set belongs to the EX series. It was released on 1 August 2006. The printed size is 100, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Rare Holo Star.

The attack Psychic Select lists no damage number. The cost is Psychic. Put any 1 card from your discard pile into your hand. Skill Copy is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless, Colorless, Colorless. Discard a Basic Pokémon or Evolution card from your hand. Choose 1 of that card's attacks. Skill Copy copies this attack. This attack does nothing if Alakazam Star doesn't have the Energy necessary to use that attack. (You must still do anything else required for that attack.) Alakazam Star performs that attack. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: You can't have more than 1 Pokémon Star in your deck.

Alakazam (#065) has 28 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Alakazam 1/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Alakazam, while this one is Alakazam ★. Both list 80 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo Star. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 23 other cards of Alakazam list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Masakazu Fukuda. I count 471 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Crystal Guardians set binder is where a full Crystal Guardians set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Alakazam can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Prism Star and Star cards. I still need this card.
