Azumarill 1/109 · Team Rocket Returns

Team Rocket Returns is a set in the EX series. It was released on 1 November 2004. The printed size is 109. This checklist is longer, at 111 cards. Azumarill is 1/109, in position 1 of 111 on this checklist. The next card is 2 Dark Ampharos. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Azumarill is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 80 HP. In the Pokédex this is Azumarill (#184), generation 2 (Johto). The card says it evolves from Marill. In this catalog that name is Marill (#183).

Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this card. The same name is on 212 other cards in the catalog.

Azumarill (#184) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2026. The earliest other card is Azumarill 2/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Sumiyoshi Kizuki illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Azumarill list a different HP.

Froth is listed as Poké-Power. Once during your turn, when you play Azumarill from your hand to evolve 1 of your Active Pokémon, you may use this power. Each Defending Pokémon is now Paralyzed. The attack Water Punch lists 20+ damage. The cost is Water, Colorless. Flip a coin for each Water Energy attached to Azumarill. This attack does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for each heads. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1.

I keep a set binder for Team Rocket Returns, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Team Rocket Returns set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Azumarill can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
