Misty's Cloyster 29/132 · Gym Heroes

Gym Heroes is a set in the Gym series. It was released on 14 August 2000. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Misty's Cloyster is 29/132, in position 29 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 28 Lt. Surge's Raichu, and after it is 30 Misty's Goldeen. The listed rarity is Rare.

Misty's Cloyster is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 70 HP. The card lists level 30. In the Pokédex this is Cloyster (#091), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Misty's Shellder. In this catalog that name is Shellder (#090).

Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.

Cloyster (#091) has 13 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 12 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Cloyster 32/62 in Fossil (1999). That card is named Cloyster, while this one is Misty's Cloyster. That card lists 50 HP, and this one lists 70 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 11 other cards of Cloyster list a different HP.

Shell Armor is listed as Pokémon Power. You may reduce all damage done by attacks to Misty's Cloyster by 10 (after applying Weakness and Resistance). (Any other effects of attacks still happen). This power can't be used if Misty's Cloyster is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The attack Triple Cannon lists 20× damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. Flip 3 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2.

I keep a set binder for Gym Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Gym Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Cloyster can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Kanto Gym Leaders and their Pokémon, and Misty and her Pokémon. I still need this card.
