Gym Heroes is a set in the Gym series. It was released on 14 August 2000. The printed size is 132, and the checklist is the same length. Erika's Vileplume is 5/132, in position 5 of 132 on this checklist. Before it is 4 Erika's Dragonair, and after it is 6 Lt. Surge's Electabuzz. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.
Erika's Vileplume is a Stage 2 Grass Pokémon with 80 HP. The card lists level 34. In the Pokédex this is Vileplume (#045), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Erika's Gloom. In this catalog that name is Gloom (#044).
Ken Sugimori illustrated this card. The same name is on 1,112 other cards in the catalog.
Vileplume (#045) has 25 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 19 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Vileplume 15/64 in Jungle (1999). That card is named Vileplume, while this one is Erika's Vileplume. Both list 80 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Ken Sugimori illustrated this one. 23 other cards of Vileplume list a different HP.
Pollen Defense is listed as Pokémon Power. If an attack does damage to Erika's Vileplume while it's your Active Pokémon (even if it's Knocked Out), flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Confused. This power works even while Erika's Vileplume is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. The attack Mega Drain lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Grass. If Erika's Vileplume does damage to the Defending Pokémon (after applying Weakness and Resistance), remove a number of damage counters from Erika's Vileplume equal to half the damage done to the Defending Pokémon (rounded up to the nearest 10). If Erika's Vileplume has fewer damage counters than that, remove all of them. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 2.
I keep a set binder for Gym Heroes, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Gym Heroes set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vileplume can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Trainer's Pokémon, Kanto Gym Leaders and their Pokémon, and Erika and her Pokémon. I still need this card.
