Hitmonchan HGSS24/25 · HGSS Black Star Promos

Hitmonchan is Pokédex #107, generation 1 (Kanto). Hitmonchan is a Basic Fighting Pokémon with 70 HP.

Hitmonchan sits at HGSS24/25 in HGSS Black Star Promos, position 24 of 25. Before it is HGSS23 Porygon2, and after it is HGSS25 Hitmonlee. The set belongs to the HeartGold & SoulSilver series. It was released on 10 February 2010. The printed size is 25, and the checklist is the same length. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Detect lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to Hitmonchan during your opponent's next turn. Sky Uppercut is another attack lists 30 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless. This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its punches slice the air. However, it seems to need a short break after fighting for three minutes."

Hitmonchan (#107) has 21 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Hitmonchan 7/102 in Base (1999). Both list 70 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Kouki Saitou illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 14 other cards of Hitmonchan list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kouki Saitou. I count 652 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

HGSS Black Star Promos set binder is where a full HGSS Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Hitmonchan can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). I still need this card.
