Toxapex 63/149 · Sun & Moon

Toxapex is Pokédex #748, generation 7 (Alola). Toxapex is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Mareanie. In this catalog that name is Mareanie (#747).

Toxapex sits at 63/149 in Sun & Moon, position 63 of 173. Before it is 62 Mareanie, and after it is 64 Cosmog. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 149. This checklist is longer, at 173 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Toxic Spikes is listed as Ability. Whenever your opponent's Active Pokémon retreats, their new Active Pokémon is Poisoned. The attack Venoshock lists 50+ damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless, Colorless. If your opponent's Active Pokémon is Poisoned, this attack does 50 more damage. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "Toxapex crawls along the ocean floor on its 12 legs. It leaves a trail of Corsola bits scattered in its wake."

Toxapex (#748) has 7 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 5 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2022. The earliest other card is Toxapex-GX 57/145 in Guardians Rising (2017). That card is named Toxapex-GX, while this one is Toxapex. That card lists 210 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo GX, and here it is Rare Holo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. 6 other cards of Toxapex list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Mitsuhiro Arita. I count 721 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Sun & Moon set binder is where a full Sun & Moon set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Toxapex can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards. I still need this card.
