Alolan Muk 131/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Muk is Pokédex #089, generation 1 (Kanto). Alolan Muk is a Stage 1 Darkness Pokémon with 140 HP. The card says it evolves from Alolan Grimer. In this catalog that name is Grimer (#088).

Alolan Muk sits at 131/236 in Cosmic Eclipse, position 131 of 272. Before it is 130 Alolan Grimer, and after it is 132 Carvanha. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 1 November 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Panic Poison lists 20 damage. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Burned, Confused, and Poisoned. Sludge Bomb is another attack lists 110 damage. The cost is Darkness, Darkness, Colorless. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 4. The flavor text reads "There are over a hundred kinds of poison inside its body. Chemical reactions between different poisons are the source of its vitality."

Muk (#089) has 31 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Muk 13/62 in Fossil (1999). That card is named Muk, while this one is Alolan Muk. That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 140 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and MAHOU illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 4. 29 other cards of Muk list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads MAHOU. I count 122 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Cosmic Eclipse set binder is where a full Cosmic Eclipse set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Muk can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Alolan forms. I still need this card.
