Vaporeon 42/236 · Cosmic Eclipse

Cosmic Eclipse is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 1 November 2019. The printed size is 236. This checklist is longer, at 272 cards. Vaporeon is 42/236, in position 42 of 272 on this checklist. Before it is 41 Golduck, and after it is 43 Sneasel. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Vaporeon is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 110 HP. In the Pokédex this is Vaporeon (#134), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Eevee. In this catalog that name is Eevee (#133).

sui illustrated this card. The same name is on 194 other cards in the catalog.

Vaporeon (#134) has 36 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 27 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Vaporeon 12/64 in Jungle (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Uncommon. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and sui illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 1, and here it is 2. 30 other cards of Vaporeon list a different HP.

Vitality Cheer is listed as Ability. Your Pokémon-GX in play that evolve from Eevee get +60 HP. You can't apply more than 1 Vitality Cheer Ability at a time. The attack Refreshing Rain lists 60 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Heal 30 damage from each of your Pokémon. Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Clean, clear waters are its usual habitat. When it's about to be attacked by an invading enemy, it dives into the water to hide."

I keep a set binder for Cosmic Eclipse, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Cosmic Eclipse set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Vaporeon can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Eevee and the Eeveelutions. I still need this card.
