Absol 81/145 · Guardians Rising

Guardians Rising is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 5 May 2017. The printed size is 145. This checklist is longer, at 180 cards. Absol is 81/145, in position 85 of 180 on this checklist. Before it is 80 Sableye, and after it is 82 Pangoro. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

Absol is a Basic Darkness Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Absol (#359), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Anesaki Dynamic illustrated this card. The same name is on 134 other cards in the catalog.

Absol (#359) has 29 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 23 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Absol 1/97 in Dragon (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Rare Holo. Naoyo Kimura illustrated that card, and Anesaki Dynamic illustrated this one. 16 other cards of Absol list a different HP.

The attack Future Sight lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness. Look at the top 4 cards of either player's deck and put them back in any order. Doom News is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Darkness, Colorless. Put all Energy attached to this Pokémon into your hand. At the end of your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon will be Knocked Out. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Long ago, superstitions were spread about it, saying it brought disaster. This fed a hatred of it, and it was driven deep into the mountains."

I keep a set binder for Guardians Rising, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Guardians Rising set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Absol can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
