Metang 84/145 · Guardians Rising

Metang is Pokédex #375, generation 3 (Hoenn). Metang is a Stage 1 Metal Pokémon with 90 HP. The card says it evolves from Beldum. In this catalog that name is Beldum (#374). The card lists Metagross, Metagross (#376) under evolves to.

Metang sits at 84/145 in Guardians Rising, position 88 of 180. Before it is 83 Beldum, and after it is 85 Metagross-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 5 May 2017. The printed size is 145. This checklist is longer, at 180 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Ram lists 20 damage. The cost is Colorless. Core Beam is another attack lists 80 damage. The cost is Metal, Metal, Colorless. Discard a Metal Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fire ×2. Resistance is Psychic -20. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "When two Beldum link together, their psychic power is doubled. Their intelligence, however, remains unchanged."

Metang (#375) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Metang 23/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Kagemaru Himeno illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 3. 22 other cards of Metang list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Kagemaru Himeno. I count 656 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Guardians Rising set binder is where a full Guardians Rising set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Metang can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). I still need this card.
