Virizion 8/73 · Shining Legends

Virizion is Pokédex #640, generation 5 (Unova). Virizion is a Basic Grass Pokémon with 110 HP.

Virizion sits at 8/73 in Shining Legends, position 8 of 81. Before it is 7 Shaymin, and after it is 9 Shining Genesect. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 6 October 2017. The printed size is 73. This checklist is longer, at 81 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo.

The attack Wrapped in Wind lists 30 damage. The cost is Grass. You may attach a basic Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon. Pike is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass, Colorless. This attack does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "Its head sprouts horns as sharp as blades. Using whirlwind-like movements, it confounds and swiftly cuts opponents."

Virizion (#640) has 19 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 13 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2011 to 2025. The earliest other card is Virizion BW70/101 in BW Black Star Promos (2011). That card lists 100 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Rare Holo. 5ban Graphics illustrated that card, and kawayoo illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Virizion list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kawayoo. I count 209 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Shining Legends set binder is where a full Shining Legends set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Virizion can fill a slot in Generation 5 binder (Unova). Themed lists that include this exact card are Swords of Justice. I still need this card.
