Sceptile-GX 196/214 · Lost Thunder

Sceptile is Pokédex #254, generation 3 (Hoenn). Sceptile-GX is a Stage 2 GX Grass Pokémon with 230 HP. The card says it evolves from Grovyle. In this catalog that name is Grovyle (#253).

Sceptile-GX sits at 196/214 in Lost Thunder, position 200 of 240. Before it is 195 Shuckle-GX, and after it is 197 Virizion-GX. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 2 November 2018. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 240 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Ultra.

The attack Mach Cut lists 60 damage. The cost is Grass. Discard a Special Energy from your opponent's Active Pokémon. Leaf Cyclone is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Grass, Grass. Move a Grass Energy from this Pokémon to 1 of your Benched Pokémon. Jungle Heal-GX is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Grass. Heal all damage from each of your Pokémon that has any Grass Energy attached to it. (You can't use more than 1 GX attack in a game.) Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon-GX rule: When your Pokémon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Sceptile (#254) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 15 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2018. The earliest other card is Sceptile 11/109 in Ruby & Sapphire (2003). That card is named Sceptile, while this one is Sceptile-GX. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 230 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Ultra. Midori Harada illustrated that card, and Yoshinobu Saito illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 1. 21 other cards of Sceptile list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Yoshinobu Saito. I count 61 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Thunder set binder is where a full Lost Thunder set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Sceptile can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Hoenn starters. I still need this card.
