Houndoom 46/214 · Lost Thunder

Houndoom is Pokédex #229, generation 2 (Johto). Houndoom is a Stage 1 Fire Pokémon with 110 HP. The card says it evolves from Houndour. In this catalog that name is Houndour (#228).

Houndoom sits at 46/214 in Lost Thunder, position 46 of 240. Before it is 45 Houndour, and after it is 47 Entei. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 2 November 2018. The printed size is 214. This checklist is longer, at 240 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Nasty Plot lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Search your deck for a card and put it into your hand. Then, shuffle your deck. Attack Operation is another attack lists 50+ damage. The cost is Fire, Fire. If you have more cards in your hand than your opponent, this attack does 80 more damage. Weakness is Water ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. If they cause a burn, it will hurt forever."

Houndoom (#229) has 44 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 29 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2001 to 2025. The earliest other card is Houndoom 4/75 in Neo Discovery (2001). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 110 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare. Shin-ichi Yoshida illustrated that card, and Sekio illustrated this one. 42 other cards of Houndoom list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Sekio. I count 72 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Thunder set binder is where a full Lost Thunder set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Houndoom can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
