Mimikyu SM163/248 · SM Black Star Promos

Mimikyu is Pokédex #778, generation 7 (Alola). Mimikyu is a Basic Fairy Pokémon with 70 HP.

Mimikyu sits at SM163/248 in SM Black Star Promos, position 166 of 251. Before it is SM162 Pikachu, and after it is SM164 Deoxys. The set belongs to the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. The listed rarity is Promo.

The attack Mimic lists no damage number. The cost is Fairy. Shuffle your hand into your deck. Then, draw a card for each card in your opponent's hand. Play Rough is another attack lists 20+ damage. The cost is Fairy, Colorless. Flip a coin. If heads, this attack does 20 more damage. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "A lonely Pokémon, it conceals its terrifying appearance beneath an old rag so it can get closer to people and other Pokémon."

Mimikyu (#778) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 18 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2017 to 2026. The earliest other card is Mimikyu SM29/248 in SM Black Star Promos (2017). Both list 70 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and Saya Tsuruta illustrated this one. 18 other cards of Mimikyu list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads Saya Tsuruta. I count 123 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

SM Black Star Promos set binder is where a full SM Black Star Promos set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Mimikyu can fill a slot in Generation 7 binder (Alola). Themed lists that include this exact card are All Mimikyu cards and Saya Tsuruta cards. I still need this card.
