Latias SM87/248 · SM Black Star Promos

SM Black Star Promos is a set in the Sun & Moon series. It was released on 3 February 2017. The printed size is 248. This checklist is longer, at 251 cards. Latias is SM87/248, in position 88 of 251 on this checklist. Before it is SM86 Pikachu, and after it is SM88 Latios. The listed rarity is Promo.

Latias is a Basic Psychic Pokémon with 100 HP. In the Pokédex this is Latias (#380), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this card. The same name is on 721 other cards in the catalog.

Latias (#380) has 33 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 24 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2025. The earliest other card is Latias 14/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 100 HP. Both list the rarity Promo. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 31 other cards of Latias list a different HP.

Flight Support is listed as Ability. Your Latios in play have no Retreat Cost. The attack Misty Gale lists 30 damage. The cost is Psychic. Heal 30 damage from each of your Benched Pokémon. Weakness is Psychic ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "It communicates using telepathy. Its body is covered in down that refracts light to make it invisible."

I keep a set binder for SM Black Star Promos, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the SM Black Star Promos set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Latias can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Mitsuhiro Arita cards and Latias and Latios. I still need this card.
