Miraidon ex 244/198 · Scarlet & Violet

Miraidon is Pokédex #1008, generation 9 (Paldea). Miraidon ex is a Basic ex Lightning Pokémon with 220 HP.

Miraidon ex sits at 244/198 in Scarlet & Violet, position 244 of 258. Before it is 243 Spidops ex, and after it is 245 Gardevoir ex. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on 31 March 2023. The printed size is 198. This checklist is longer, at 258 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 198. The listed rarity is Special Illustration Rare.

Tandem Unit is listed as Ability. Once during your turn, you may search your deck for up to 2 Basic Lightning Pokémon and put them onto your Bench. Then, shuffle your deck. The attack Photon Blaster lists 220 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning, Colorless. During your next turn, this Pokémon can't attack. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. Miraidon (#1008) has 17 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 9 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2026. The earliest other card is Miraidon 13/102 in Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos (2023). That card is named Miraidon, while this one is Miraidon ex. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 220 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Special Illustration Rare. Akira Komayama illustrated that card, and kantaro illustrated this one. 8 other cards of Miraidon list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads kantaro. I count 33 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Scarlet & Violet set binder is where a full Scarlet & Violet set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Miraidon can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). Themed lists that include this exact card are Paradox Pokémon, Special Illustration Rares, and Box-art legendaries. I still need this card.
