Dewgong 87/165 · 151

Dewgong is Pokédex #087, generation 1 (Kanto). Dewgong is a Stage 1 Water Pokémon with 130 HP. The card says it evolves from Seel. In this catalog that name is Seel (#086).

Dewgong sits at 87/165 in 151, position 87 of 207. Before it is 86 Seel, and after it is 88 Grimer. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on 22 September 2023. The printed size is 165. This checklist is longer, at 207 cards. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

The attack Dual Splash lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Colorless. This attack does 50 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Aurora Beam is another attack lists 100 damage. The cost is Water, Colorless, Colorless. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "It sunbathes on the beach after meals. The rise in its body temperature helps its digestion." The regulation mark is G.

Dewgong (#087) has 18 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2026. The earliest other card is Dewgong 25/102 in Base (1999). That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. Both list the rarity Uncommon. Mitsuhiro Arita illustrated that card, and aoki illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 3, and here it is 2. 15 other cards of Dewgong list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads aoki. I count 18 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

151 set binder is where a full 151 set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Dewgong can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Winter: Ice Pokémon, Modern living dex: the 151, and Beach and shore Pokémon. I still need this card.
