Luxray ex 195/167 · Twilight Masquerade

Luxray is Pokédex #405, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Luxray ex is a Stage 2 ex Lightning Pokémon with 310 HP. The card says it evolves from Luxio. In this catalog that name is Luxio (#404).

Luxray ex sits at 195/167 in Twilight Masquerade, position 195 of 226. Before it is 194 Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, and after it is 196 Iron Thorns ex. The set belongs to the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on 24 May 2024. The printed size is 167. This checklist is longer, at 226 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 167. The listed rarity is Ultra Rare.

The attack Piercing Gaze lists 120 damage. The cost is Colorless, Colorless. Your opponent reveals their hand. Discard a card you find there. Volt Strike is another attack lists 250 damage. The cost is Lightning, Lightning. Discard all Energy from this Pokémon. Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is H.

Luxray (#405) has 26 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 22 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2026. The earliest other card is Luxray 7/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card is named Luxray, while this one is Luxray ex. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 310 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Ultra Rare. Mikiko Takeda illustrated that card, and PLANETA Yamashita illustrated this one. 25 other cards of Luxray list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads PLANETA Yamashita. I count 20 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Twilight Masquerade set binder is where a full Twilight Masquerade set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Luxray can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Cat Pokémon. I still need this card.
