Veluza ex 43/159 · Journey Together

Journey Together is a set in the Scarlet & Violet series. It was released on 28 March 2025. The printed size is 159. This checklist is longer, at 190 cards. Veluza ex is 43/159, in position 43 of 190 on this checklist. Before it is 42 Regice, and after it is 44 Alolan Geodude. The listed rarity is Double Rare.

Veluza ex is a Basic ex Water Pokémon with 210 HP. In the Pokédex this is Veluza (#976), generation 9 (Paldea).

Veluza (#976) has 5 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 4 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2023 to 2024. The earliest other card is Veluza 56/193 in Paldea Evolved (2023). That card is named Veluza, while this one is Veluza ex. That card lists 130 HP, and this one lists 210 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Double Rare. The regulation mark there is G, and here it is H. Retreat cost there is 2, and here it is 1. 5 other cards of Veluza list a different HP.

The attack Razor Fin lists 30 damage. The cost is Water. Purging Strike is another attack lists 120+ damage. The cost is Water, Water, Colorless. You may discard your hand. If you discarded any cards in this way, this attack does 120 more damage. Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The card text says: Pokémon ex rule: When your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is H.

I keep a set binder for Journey Together, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Journey Together set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Veluza can fill a slot in Generation 9 binder (Paldea). I still need this card.
