Hisuian Electrode 3/189 · Astral Radiance

Astral Radiance is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 27 May 2022. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 216 cards. Hisuian Electrode is 3/189, in position 3 of 216 on this checklist. Before it is 2 Hisuian Voltorb, and after it is 4 Scyther. The listed rarity is Uncommon.

Hisuian Electrode is a Stage 1 Grass Pokémon with 90 HP. In the Pokédex this is Electrode (#101), generation 1 (Kanto). The card says it evolves from Hisuian Voltorb. In this catalog that name is Voltorb (#100).

Akira Komayama illustrated this card. The same name is on 239 other cards in the catalog.

Electrode (#101) has 45 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 39 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2025. The earliest other card is Electrode 21/102 in Base (1999). That card is named Electrode, while this one is Hisuian Electrode. That card lists 80 HP, and this one lists 90 HP. The rarity there is Rare, and here it is Uncommon. Keiji Kinebuchi illustrated that card, and Akira Komayama illustrated this one. 27 other cards of Electrode list a different HP.

The attack Triple Draw lists no damage number. Draw 3 cards. Irritated Bomb is another attack lists 50 damage. Weakness is Fire ×2. Retreat cost is 1. The flavor text reads "The tissue on the surface of its body is curiously similar in composition to an Apricorn. When irritated, this Pokémon lets loose an electric current equal to 20 lightning bolts." The regulation mark is F.

I keep a set binder for Astral Radiance, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Astral Radiance set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Electrode can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Hisuian and Paldean forms. I still need this card.
