Aerodactyl VSTAR 199/196 · Lost Origin

Aerodactyl is Pokédex #142, generation 1 (Kanto). Aerodactyl VSTAR is a VSTAR Fighting Pokémon with 260 HP. The card says it evolves from Aerodactyl V. In this catalog that name is Aerodactyl (#142).

Aerodactyl VSTAR sits at 199/196 in Lost Origin, position 199 of 217. Before it is 198 Magnezone VSTAR, and after it is 200 Drapion VSTAR. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 9 September 2022. The printed size is 196. This checklist is longer, at 217 cards. The collector number is above the printed set size of 196. The listed rarity is Rare Rainbow.

The attack Lost Dive lists 240 damage. The cost is Fighting, Colorless, Colorless. Put the top 3 cards of your deck in the Lost Zone. Ancient Star is another attack lists no damage number. The cost is Colorless. Until this Pokémon leaves play, it gains an Ability that has the effect "Your opponent's Pokémon V in play, except any Aerodactyl VSTAR, have no Abilities." (You can't use more than 1 VSTAR Power in a game.) Weakness is Grass ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: VSTAR rule: When your Pokémon VSTAR is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Aerodactyl (#142) has 23 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 16 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 1999 to 2023. The earliest other card is Aerodactyl 1/62 in Fossil (1999). That card is named Aerodactyl, while this one is Aerodactyl VSTAR. That card lists 60 HP, and this one lists 260 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Rainbow. Kagemaru Himeno illustrated that card, and 5ban Graphics illustrated this one. 22 other cards of Aerodactyl list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads 5ban Graphics. I count 1,629 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Origin set binder is where a full Lost Origin set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Aerodactyl can fill a slot in Generation 1 binder (Kanto). Themed lists that include this exact card are Fossil Pokémon. I still need this card.
