Magnezone V 56/196 · Lost Origin

Magnezone is Pokédex #462, generation 4 (Sinnoh). Magnezone V is a Basic V Lightning Pokémon with 210 HP.

Magnezone V sits at 56/196 in Lost Origin, position 56 of 217. Before it is 55 Manectric, and after it is 57 Magnezone VSTAR. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 9 September 2022. The printed size is 196. This checklist is longer, at 217 cards. The listed rarity is Rare Holo V.

The attack Magnetic Tension lists no damage number. The cost is Lightning, Colorless. Switch 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon with their Active Pokémon. This attack does 40 damage to the new Active Pokémon. Splitting Beam is another attack lists 90 damage. The cost is Lightning, Colorless, Colorless. This attack also does 30 damage to 2 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Fighting ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The card text says: V rule: When your Pokémon V is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The regulation mark is F.

Magnezone (#462) has 27 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 20 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2007 to 2025. The earliest other card is Magnezone 8/130 in Diamond & Pearl (2007). That card is named Magnezone, while this one is Magnezone V. That card lists 120 HP, and this one lists 210 HP. The rarity there is Rare Holo, and here it is Rare Holo V. Nakaoka illustrated that card, and N-DESIGN Inc. illustrated this one. Retreat cost there is 4, and here it is 2. 26 other cards of Magnezone list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads N-DESIGN Inc.. I count 68 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Lost Origin set binder is where a full Lost Origin set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Magnezone can fill a slot in Generation 4 binder (Sinnoh). Themed lists that include this exact card are Magnemite, Magneton, and Magnezone. I still need this card.
