Granbull 71/189 · Darkness Ablaze

Granbull is Pokédex #210, generation 2 (Johto). Granbull is a Stage 1 Psychic Pokémon with 130 HP. The card says it evolves from Snubbull. In this catalog that name is Snubbull (#209).

Granbull sits at 71/189 in Darkness Ablaze, position 71 of 201. Before it is 70 Snubbull, and after it is 72 Lunatone. The set belongs to the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 14 August 2020. The printed size is 189. This checklist is longer, at 201 cards. The listed rarity is Rare.

The attack Jaw Lock lists 50 damage. The cost is Psychic, Colorless. During your opponent's next turn, the Defending Pokémon can't retreat. Headbutt Bounce is another attack lists 130 damage. The cost is Psychic, Psychic, Colorless. Weakness is Metal ×2. Retreat cost is 2. The flavor text reads "Although it's popular with young people, Granbull is timid and sensitive, so it's totally incompetent as a watchdog." The regulation mark is D.

Granbull (#210) has 15 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 14 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2000 to 2025. The earliest other card is Granbull 37/111 in Neo Genesis (2000). That card lists 70 HP, and this one lists 130 HP. The rarity there is Uncommon, and here it is Rare. Ken Sugimori illustrated that card, and SATOSHI NAKAI illustrated this one. 12 other cards of Granbull list a different HP.

The illustrator line reads SATOSHI NAKAI. I count 58 other cards in the catalog with that illustrator.

Darkness Ablaze set binder is where a full Darkness Ablaze set goes. This card fills one slot there. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Granbull can fill a slot in Generation 2 binder (Johto). I still need this card.
