Kyogre 21/72 · Shining Fates

Shining Fates is a set in the Sword & Shield series. It was released on 19 February 2021. The printed size is 72. This checklist is longer, at 73 cards. Kyogre is 21/72, in position 21 of 73 on this checklist. Before it is 20 Horsea, and after it is 22 Buizel. The listed rarity is Amazing Rare.

Kyogre is a Basic Water Pokémon with 120 HP. In the Pokédex this is Kyogre (#382), generation 3 (Hoenn).

Anesaki Dynamic illustrated this card. The same name is on 134 other cards in the catalog.

Kyogre (#382) has 32 other cards in the catalog. Those other cards are in 21 sets. The other printings with a release date run from 2003 to 2026. The earliest other card is Kyogre ex 1/40 in Nintendo Black Star Promos (2003). That card is named Kyogre ex, while this one is Kyogre. Both list 120 HP. The rarity there is Promo, and here it is Amazing Rare. Hiromichi Sugiyama illustrated that card, and Anesaki Dynamic illustrated this one. 31 other cards of Kyogre list a different HP.

The attack Amazing Surge lists no damage number. The cost is Water, Lightning, Metal, Colorless. This attack does 80 damage to each of your opponent's Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Weakness is Lightning ×2. Retreat cost is 3. The flavor text reads "It is said to have widened the seas by causing downpours. It had been asleep in a marine trench." The regulation mark is D.

I keep a set binder for Shining Fates, meant to hold every card of that set. This card is one slot in the Shining Fates set binder. A generation binder holds one card of each species. Kyogre can fill a slot in Generation 3 binder (Hoenn). Themed lists that include this exact card are Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. I still need this card.
